COMMUNITY GARDEN & FOOD COOPERATIVE

The BHCFL Community Garden & Food Cooperative has been established to bring agriculture and self-sustainability to our youth and families so that they learn how to feed themselves by growing their own food, teach them healthy eating and the importance of farmers, and to provide STEM education. We learn various gardening techniques with in ground, raised garden beds, hydroponics, and a greenhouse. This program is in conjunction with Daytona State College WISE(Women in Science & Engineering) Club, 4-H, Florida Agriculture in the Classroom, and the UF/IFAS Master Gardeners. Your donation helps Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc. buy gardening & maintenance supplies for the community garden and maintain a network of Black Farmers that can provide fresh foods and vegetables to the community.

OUTDOOR RECREATIONAL PROGRAM

Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc.’s Outdoor Recreational Program was established to deepen the fellowship of our community through shared experiences and to help us focus our energy on village building in the great outdoors. This program introduces underrepresented homeschooling families to outdoor camping, outdoor skills and activities, including fishing, swimming, safety & survival skills, and fosters a love for outdoor recreation and conservation. This is our way to connect with nature, connect with family, and connect with community. Your donation helps Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc. provide the campsite, instructors, buy equipment and supplies, and storage.
