OUR Services

Home Education is a parent-directed educational option that satisfies the requirement for regular school attendance. Florida Laws protecting home education became effective in 1985. Parents have the freedom to determine their child's educational path and the plan for reaching their goals. Students have the opportunity to explore and learn at their own pace, in any location or at any time. Home education students are able to enter institutions of higher learning and are eligible to participate in the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program.

The ease of starting a homeschool does not always translate into the ease of running and/or maintaining a homeschool. BHCFL Parent Workshops provide Parent Educators the information and guidance needed in a 6-week workshop and yearly coaching, to ensure a rich, progressive learning experience, so that no homeschooled child will be left behind.

If you'd like to join the Building B.L.O.C.K.S. workshop series to help you build your homeschool, click below to get signed up.

To make an even larger impact in our community, we have partnered with Google in order to create more equitable access to opportunity and advancement and remove structural barriers that have disproportionately hindered our Black talent from joining the middle class.

Together, we are preparing youth and adults in our communities for high-paying jobs in the fast-growing fields of data analytics, digital marketing & e-commerce, user experience (UX) design, project management, and IT support. This Scholarship to gain Certification is free and there is no prior knowledge needed.

Thanks to generous support from Grow With Google, Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc. (BHCFL) is distributing free Google Career Certificate scholarships to not only homeschooling youth and parents, but to our entire community! Interested in this opportunity? Fill out this application to be considered for a Google Career Certificate scholarship!

We are an EHEP Partner Hub!

What does that mean?

Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc. has opted to serve as a distribution hub for a localized version of the Equity in Home Education Program in 2023. This will provide underrepresented Florida homeschooling families from minority and low income backgrounds with more accessible options for receiving aid, including pick-up and a city-wide volunteer kit distribution day.

How do I qualify?

We do require a few things before handing over aid. This includes an agreement that certifies that you are a current homeschooler, you will provide a photo upon receiving your Homeschool Kit, and you will use the items we provide for homeschool use. After agreeing to our terms, you can begin to select aid.

What will I receive in the Homeschool Kit?

Supplies will vary depending on your family's need. Available items include tablets, laptops, printers, earbuds, pencil cases, pencils, backpacks, notebooks, colored pencils, calculators, and pencil sharpeners.

You said we can receive even more?

Yes! As a recipient of our Homeschool Kits, you also qualify to receive exclusive access to Canary Academy's online community with free access to classes, books, clubs, and more. www.canaryacademyonline.org

 President's Volunteer Service Award

An initiative of the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation

Service usually springs from selflessness, but the President of the United States wants to recognize volunteers just the same. That's why the President's Volunteer Service Award was created. It is a national honor bestowed upon those who have sustained service to their communities.
We are excited to show the world what our volunteers and organization are doing!

The willingness of our nation’s citizens to service others plays a large role in what makes this country so great. BHCFL is providing an opportunity for you to be recognized for your work in the community.
