Programs initiated by Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc. is one way to ensure that our homeschooled youth have access to adequate positive opportunities, social engagement, and emotional support.
The purpose of our BHCFL programs is to engage our youth in intentional, productive, and constructive ways while recognizing and enhancing their strengths. BHCFL programs promote positive outcomes by providing wonderful learning opportunities, fostering positive relationships, and giving the support that is needed to develop youth leaders and prevent risky behaviors. Our programs keep our youth civically engaged and contributing to their communities.
COMMUNITY GARDEN & FOOD COOPERATIVE
The BHCFL Community Garden & Food Cooperative has been established to teachagriculture and self-sustainability to our youth and families, to provide access to healthy fruits and vegetables, to learn the importance of farmers, and to provide STEM education. In this program we learn various gardening techniques with in ground, raised garden beds, hydroponics, and a greenhouse. This program is in conjunction with Daytona State College WISE(Women in Science & Engineering) Club, 4-H, Florida Agriculture in the Classroom, and the UF/IFAS Master Gardeners. Your donation helps Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc. buy gardening & maintenance supplies for the community garden and maintain a network of Black Farmers that can provide fresh foods and vegetables to the community.
BHCFL OUTDOOR RECREATIONAL PROGRAM
Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc.’s Outdoor Recreational Program was established to deepen the fellowship of our community through shared experiences and to help us focus our energy on village building in the great outdoors. This program introduces underrepresented homeschooling families to outdoor camping, outdoor skills and activities, including fishing, swimming, safety & survival skills, and fosters a love for outdoor recreation and conservation. This is our way to connect with nature, connect with family, and connect with community. Your donation helps Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc. provide the campsite, instructors, buy equipment and supplies, and storage.
AFRICAN CULTURAL ARTS PROGRAM
Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc. has established the African Cultural Arts Program to instill positive self image, values, principles, and respect of African culture to our youth, while teaching African dance, music, storytelling, and other African art traditions.
This program increases the knowledge of African culture, teaches our youth of African descent about their traditional culture and history so that they may gain a positive self-image, awareness, and direction. It also offers a fun way to engage in academic and physical exercises. Our students are enriched through the hands on learning opportunities in this program, and the rhythms of Africa fill their heart.

GOLF & FENCING PROGRAM
BHCFL’s Golf and Fencing Program exposes our homeschooled youth to the sport of golf and fencing! Both sports help our youth build self-esteem and learn self-discipline.

Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc.'s Fencing Program is in partnership with Orlando Fencing Academy.
THE LENDING LIBRARY
Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc.'s LENDING LIBRARY provides educational materials, books, videos, curriculum kits, and computers that families can borrow and return when they are done. Your donation helps us keep up-to-date materials and equipment for families that need them.
THE GRADUATION/AWARDS CEREMONY
Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida Inc.'s Graduation/Awards Ceremony and Kings and Queens Dance is an annual event where we celebrate student achievements that have been accomplished throughout the year. Parents are able to present awards at that time to their children, and Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc. recognizes each child with a gift. Families join together with food and fellowship, and afterwards, the students have an all ages Kings and Queens celebratory Dance. Your donation helps Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc. provide the venue, decorations, cake, and recognize each and every child with a gift.
GUESTS/FIELD TRIPS/CLASSES
The Guests, Field Trips, Classes Program provides great opportunities for hands-on learning and includes Student and Parent Clubs, Tutoring & College Prep, and so much more! Your donation helps Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc. provide guests, classes, and field trips that inspire, encourage, and help our youth excel, provide community events to build bridges and build a stronger community, and to provide supporting workshops to help our parents build a strong foundation for their homeschool.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
The purpose of this program is to teach our children how to give back to their communities in service to others. We have numerous projects that we participate in annually, and many require more than our manual labor. Please donate to this program so that we can continue to provide needed supplies to those in our community that need it the most.
