
Programs initiated by Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc. is one way to ensure that our homeschooled youth have access to adequate positive opportunities, social engagement, and emotional support.
The purpose of our BHCFL programs is to engage our youth in intentional, productive, and constructive ways while recognizing and enhancing their strengths. BHCFL programs promote positive outcomes by providing wonderful learning opportunities, fostering positive relationships, and giving the support that is needed to develop youth leaders and prevent risky behaviors. Our programs keep our youth civically engaged and contributing to their communities.

COMMUNITY GARDEN & FOOD COOPERATIVE
The BHCFL Community Garden & Food Cooperative teaches agriculture, sustainability, and food equity to our youth and families. Students learn the importance of farmers, plant science, nutrition, and responsible stewardship.
Through hands-on experiences with in-ground beds, raised beds, hydroponics, and our greenhouse, students gain real-life gardening skills while contributing to our community’s access to healthy fruits and vegetables.

Support outdoor adventures that build confidence, leadership, and community.
BHCFL OUTDOOR RECREATIONAL PROGRAM
Our Outdoor Recreational Program deepens community fellowship through shared experiences in nature. This program introduces underrepresented homeschooling families to outdoor camping, survival skills, and adventure-based learning.
Students participate in fishing, hiking, swimming, fire safety, outdoor cooking, shelter-building, and conservation education—all while building confidence, teamwork, and leadership.
This is our way to connect with nature, connect with family, and connect with community.

Keep African dance, drumming, art, and cultural pride thriving for our youth.
AFRICAN CULTURAL ARTS PROGRAM
The African Cultural Arts Program instills positive self-image, cultural pride, values, and traditional principles through African dance, music, drumming, storytelling, and artistic expression.
Students explore the beauty of African heritage through hands-on cultural arts that strengthen identity, build confidence, and offer a fun, engaging way to learn history and physical movement.
The rhythms of Africa fill their hearts while expanding their cultural awareness and academic enrichment.

Give youth access to quality sports experiences that build strength and discipline.
GOLF, P.E. & SPORTS PROGRAM
The Golf, P.E., and Sports Program promotes physical fitness, discipline, confidence, and sportsmanship. Students participate in structured physical education, recreational sports, and specialized training in golf and fencing.
These athletic experiences help students build strength, coordination, focus, and lifelong healthy habits.

THE RESOURCE STORE
The Resource Store at the BHCFL Homeschool Resource Center serves as a vital hub for homeschooling families, providing access to educational materials, BHCFL Empowering Families Cultural Unit Studies, books, curriculum kits, and exclusive BHCFL and Homeschool Tribe gear. This space is designed to support, equip, and inspire families on their homeschooling journey by offering affordable, high-quality resources that cater to diverse learning styles and subjects.

THE GRADUATION/AWARDS CEREMONY
Our annual Graduation & Awards Ceremony is a joyful celebration of academic growth, character, and achievement. Families gather to honor students for their accomplishments throughout the year, and parents have the opportunity to present awards to their children. BHCFL recognizes every child with a special gift as part of this meaningful tradition.
Following the ceremony, students enjoy our all-ages Kings and Queens Dance—a beautiful celebration of culture, confidence, and community where our youth shine with pride.

GUESTS/FIELD TRIPS/CLASSES
This comprehensive program provides hands-on, experiential learning for both students and parents. Through engaging classes, enrichment clubs, tutoring, college prep, and guest-led workshops, families have access to academic, cultural, and creative opportunities that enhance the homeschooling journey.
Students participate in field trips, STEM experiences, arts programs, interactive workshops, and parent support sessions designed to encourage excellence, curiosity, cultural understanding, and a strong homeschool foundation.
Bring hands-on learning, enrichment classes, and inspiring guest instructors to our youth.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
The BHCFL Community Service Program teaches leadership, responsibility, and compassion by involving students in meaningful service projects throughout the community. Youth participate in volunteer work, outreach initiatives, donation drives, and service-learning opportunities that instill empathy and civic engagement.
Through hands-on service, students learn the importance of helping others, giving back, and becoming leaders who create positive change in their communities.
